Mental Health Month is celebrated each year in the month of October in NSW. This month encourages all of us to think about our mental health and wellbeing, regardless of whether we may have a lived experience of mental illness or not. It also gives us the opportunity to understand the importance of good mental health in our everyday lives and encourages help seeking behaviours when needed.
Ways you can get involved:
There are events hosted online and all over NSW throughout the month: https://mentalhealthmonth.wayahead.org.au/events/
Thrive GP will be circulating resources throughout the month to help raise awareness and educate our patients/community

If you are a woman or person with a cervix, you should do cervical screening every 5 years from 25.
Our practice is offering Cervical Screening self-testing kits. A self-collected sample is just as safe, effective and accurate as a sample collected by a doctor or nurse. HPV can be found just as well in samples from either your cervix or your vagina.
